Writing Awards Gala Wednesday June 11

Celebrate with us! Plan now to attend The Word Guild Canadian Christian Writing Awards Gala Wednesday, June 11th at 7:30 p.m. at World Vision Canada, 1 World Drive, Mississauga, Ont.

Are you an avid reader or aspiring writer? Come meet real live Canadian Christian writers (yes, we exist!) Find out who published the best novels, non-fiction books, magazine articles, poems and scripts in 2007. Get dressed up (black-tie event). Applaud the winners.

Laugh with emcee Herbie Kuhn, popular speaker and in-house announcer for the Toronto Raptors. Get autographs. Mingle with writers during the reception.

Canadian Writers Compete for Best New Author Award

Five women and one man from four Canadian provinces are in the running to win the Best New Canadian Christian Author Contest. The 2008 winner will be announced at The Word Guild Writing Awards Gala. Read the press release.

Memorial Service

Tarr Award Winner E. Margaret Clarkson

The memorial service for Canadian author/poet/hymnwriter E. Margaret Clarkson will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday June 3rd in the chapel at Tyndale University College & Seminary, 25 Ballyconnor Court, North York, ON M2M 4B3. Margaret was presented with the Leslie K. Tarr Award for career achievement in 1992. She passed away on March 17 at age 93.
