Novice Writers Of All Ages Can Win Prizes

in the God Uses Ink Contest

2008 Contest is now closed for this year. See the information below and prepare for next year's contest. Do not send anything until the contest opens next year.

Never before published Canadian writers who are Christian, including teenagers and young adults, can win prizes in The God Uses Ink Novice Writing Contest. First prize winners will receive free registration to attend Write! Canada, a value of nearly $400.

Entries must be received by April 18, 2008

The topic for the 2008 contest is Tracing My Journey: Canadian writers share their stories, the theme for this year's Write! Canada conference to be held in Guelph, Ontario from June 12 to 14.  Contest submissions can be in any writing format, including short stories, poems and nonfiction articles. Independent judges who are experienced writers and editors will evaluate the entries and provide helpful feedback.

This contest is designed to encourage and recognize new and aspiring writers. For the purposes of this competition, “unpublished” means you have never been paid for something you have written.

Prizes are available in three age categories: teenagers (ages 14 to 19); young adults (ages 20 to 29); and adults age 30 and over.

First prize: Registration for Write! Canada Christian Writers’ Conference, June 12 to 14, 2008 in Guelph, Ont. (approximate value nearly $400)
Second prize: A $100 gift certificate for The Word Guild (can be used for conference registration,  membership, etc.).
Third prize: A $50 gift certificate for The Word Guild (can be used for conference registration,  membership, etc.)
