The Word Guild's Awards Sponsorship Package

One of the goals of The Word Guild is to release and empower the voices of the many Christian writers across Canada. They have something to say that needs to be heard. We are working toward the day when the voices of those writers will have a major impact on our nation through newspapers, magazines and books-in both mainstream and Christian markets-as well as through countless other arenas, from promotional writing to screenplays. As each writer listens to God's heart, his or her words are imbued with the Master's touch so that whether the work is overtly Christian or not, God's fingerprints are manifest.

The Word Guild seeks to encourage excellence in everything the writers do. We assist the writers in making connections and finding outlets for their work, and help the writers learn how to make the public aware of their products.

One of the key ways we can accomplish all of these goals is through the Canadian Christian Writing Awards, which honour the best work produced by Canadian writers through a contest and a black-tie Awards Gala each June.

The Word Guild is a not-for-profit, volunteer-led organization representing writers and editors-most of whom make very little money for their efforts. In order to make our Awards program successful, we need sponsors who will assist us financially to cover the costs of both the awards contest and the Awards Gala. Each award winner will receive a cash prize, a certificate for framing, and a custom-designed gold lapel pin. Additional funds are used to give an honorarium to the judges, and to cover costs related to processing the entries, staging the Awards Gala, and promotion of the contest and the Gala.

How can you help? You could sponsor an award as an individual, family, business, ministry, or group.

On June 11th, bookstore owners, readers, conference attendees, families and friends of award nominees will celebrate our best writers at The Canadian Christian Writing Awards Gala at World Vision's headquarters in Mississauga, Ont. From June 12 to 14, more than 250 people from across the country will gather in Guelph, Ont., to attend the nation's largest Christian writer's conference, Write! Canada. As avid readers and writers, these people will go back to their communities and spread the word about resources they discover. Members of the media will also attend and cover this event.

By sponsoring an award for $500, $750, $1000, $1500 or more, you can choose the type of promotion you will receive. The various packages include such benefits as coming to the Gala stage to present the award, ads in the printed program, your logo on the screen, and exhibit space at the Gala or Write! Canada to promote your company or ministry.

If you aren't looking for the promotion those options provide, you can choose to sponsor one of The Canadian Christian Writing Awards for $375 or $500. You will still be able to present your award and you will be acknowledged as the sponsor.
