Awards Gala

The Word Guild's fourth annual Writing Awards Gala was held on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at World Vision Canada headquarters, 1 World Drive, Mississauga, Ontario.  Herbie Kuhn was the emcee again this year.

The premier national event honouring Canadian writers who are Christian presents awards for outstanding career achievement, for the Best New Canadian Christian Author, and for the best books, novels, article, columns, poems, and song lyrics published in 2008.

This is a black-tie event, so we are requesting tuxedos or dark suits with ties for men, formal or semi-formal wear for women. There will be a stand-up reception following the awards ceremony.

Are you an avid reader or and aspiring writer? Come meet real live Canadian Christian writers (yes, we exist!). Find out who published the best novels, non-fiction books, magazine articles, poems and scripts in 2008. Get dressed up. Applaud the winners. Encouage Canadian writers who are Christian to keep writing.
